There Are Many People Who Argue What The Real Cause Or

There are many people who argue what the real cause or causes of the civil war was. I believe there are many causes but the main cause would be the issue of the southern states not wanting to get rid of chattel slavery. The southern states were dependent on slavery for the production of their economics. The southern states would fight for their policies to over extend into the blossoming states rather than the northern polices. President Abraham Lincoln, without a single vote from the southern state was elected on November 6, 1860, starting the rebellion of the southern states and them seceding from the union. Abolitionist varied from the extremely outspoken to the reserved behind the scenes, either way each person had a great impact for freedom of slaves. Benjamin Lay was a Quaker who stood at 4 feet 7 inches and was very extravagant in his ways of showing the wrong doings of slaves. He lived between 1681-1759 moving from place to place due to his disownment by the Devonshire House and Colchester. He then went to Barbados where he was appalled by the slavery conditions there, where he began his protest of slavery. He took this up in Philadelphia and New Jersey, where he angered the Quaker institutions. His book All Slave-Keepers the Keep the Innocent in Bondage, Apostates was published by his friend Benjamin Franklin had this published in 1737. He stabbed a bible hiding a bladder of red liquid that splattered Quaker members sitting close by at a Meeting House. Another dramatic exploit was when he stoo d outside in the snow with bare feet to show the hardships of slaves. To show how it was for African families to be torn apart he kidnapped a child. Limbo generation Essay Example For Students

Limbo generation Essay Billys mother is so wrapped up in her own life that she has no time to pay attention to her fifteen-year-old son. She has obviously had lovers for many years, which is why Billys father left them. Billy doesnt like his mother acting like this, as is clear when he questions her about Reg, and he gets into a fight at school when MacDowall tells him Jud is not his full brother. His mother treats him with indifference and uses him as a messenger boy who has to do her will. The early morning routine in the home shows that Billy must go and buy bread and milk or go without his breakfast. His mother is still getting dressed when he comes back from his paper round, lengthened because Jud has taken his bicycle. She doesnt even care that he might be late for school and get into trouble, but he must first get her some fags. The most revealing demonstration of her callous indifference to him, though, is when his bird is missing. She refuses to take his side, she refuses to comfort him when he tries to bury his face in her and, in fact, rejects him with the harsh words, Gioer then, Billy, dont be so daft. Her total lack of understanding for the amazing thing her son has done in training the hawk is shown in her dismissive comment, But its only a bird. You can get another, cant you? Kes is different. In order to be worthy of her, Billy not only reads up about training and the care of hawks, he also learns the complex terminology which goes with falconry. We can see how Kes has unlocked his educational potential in a way that no teacher has been able to, although Mr Farthing is the one who encourages Billy to talk about her and praises him for his expertise.Because Billy gives so much of his time to Kes, the bond between them is very strong. He feels comfortable just sitting in the shed with her, away from the demands of his family. He doesnt take it out on her when she scratches or bites him, but patiently keeps on with the training. He shows the degree of his commitment to her when he tells Mr Farthing Id sooner have her (than a pet), just to look at her, an fly her. Thats enough for me. He talks to Kes like a baby, in contrast to the way his mother swears at him. They are both captives in a way, but Billy encourages Kes to fly, trusting in her willingness to return. Jud, on the other hand, delights in telling Billy that he will soon be joining him and the men down the mine, a captivity enforced by Billys limited education and poor background. As Jud says, even on the mine thas to be able to read and write before theyll set thi on. In contrast to Juds dismissal of Billys interest in the bird, Mr Farthing puts into words what is probably Billys response to watching the bird flying, Thats how I felt, its as though it was flying in a, . .. in a, .. .in a pocket of silence, thats it, a pocket of silence. Kes allows Billy to escape for short periods. Billy himself admits, Do you know, Sir, I feel as though shes doin me a favour just lettin me stand here. It is significant that in the closing scenes of the novel Billy, hiding out in the derelict Palace, imagines himself as the big hero, Big Billy, with his hunting bird on his arm. He casts Big Kes off on a wide circuit, ringing up to her pitch until she sees Jud running like a scared rabbit. She hurtles down towards him with a breathtaking stoop which has the audience gasping. These images show clearly how Kes has built Billy up and how, through her, he could have escaped from the limiting deprivations of his life. .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852 , .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852 .postImageUrl , .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852 , .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852:hover , .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852:visited , .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852:active { border:0!important; } .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852:active , .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852 .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ue94ee43a05264a7529def1014c08c852:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Oedipus Rex: Tragedy of Fate Essay But Kes does not make contact with her prey. Sony And Marketing Essays - Marketing, Sony, Societal Marketing

Sony and Marketing WHAT MARKETING IS: The primary concern or objective of marketing is to identify and satisfy, or exceed the changing needs of customers. In view of this broad concern of marketing, it can be seen that the concept of marketing encapsulates many activities in a business. Marketing, in fact, refers to any activity undertaken by a firm that has been designed to plan, price, promote and distribute ideas, goods and services to target markets. These marketing activities were executed in order to create exchange, that is sales, that will result in the achievement of the proprietors' individual goals and the firm's goals, both in the short-term and the long-term. It is then obvious that marketing forms an integral component of any business's operations. In particular marketing activities attempt to increase a firms' revenue base, by placing an emphasis on enticing potential customers in target markets to purchase the firms' products in order to satisfy their wants, rather than those of firm's competitors. Consequently, the marketing directly contributes to the attainment of the financial goals of the firm. Hence, the success of a firm is reliant upon the extent to which it is able to identify, and satisfy or exceed the customer's needs more effectively and efficiently relative to its competitors vying for the same markets. Marketing as an activity that entails several features, all of which are presented during the course of the marketing process. Such features include, firstly and most importantly, that marketing is a comprehensive process that begins with the creation of an idea and ends up as product that will be sold to satisfy a customer's needs. Secondly, marketing is seen as a managerial process as it involves making managerial decisions about the particular mix of product, price, place and promotion in a firm. Furthermore, marketing involves managers planning and ensuring that particular sequenced activities are carried out, in order for the marketing plan to be successful. Finally, marketing is perceived as a way in which firms are able to satisfy the needs of customers, and in turn achieve their own business goals. APPROACHES TO MARKETING: Marketing provides the business with the ability to satisfy the changing wants of customers. In light of this, and the fact that businesses have become increasingly aware of the role that marketing plays in achieving success in the business, several approaches or philosophies to marketing have developed. There are five central approaches to marketing, with the use of a specific marketing approach/s depends upon particular business's marketing strategy and the type of product being marketed. These different approaches are: Marketing Concept: this approach believes that customer's want-satisfaction is the economic and social reason for an organisation's existence. This approach stipulates that all of the business's activities should be targeted towards meeting consumer wants, while at the same time meeting the organisation's goals. In effect, this approach requires that the firm finds out what the customer wants, and subsequently develops a product to meet these requirements and then sell it at a profit. Production Concept: this approach states that the business will sell its product if it is both well made and affordable. Businesses utilising this approach require management to focus on improving production techniques and cost structures of the business. Consequently, this approach does not place emphasis on customer want-satisfaction. Product Concept: this approach has the attitude that 'product is king' and focuses on the quality, features, and performance of the product. This approach believes that if the product has more features or is of a better quality and performance compared to competitors, it will then gain greater sales. This approach is not customer want-satisfaction oriented. Selling Concept: this approach focuses on developing sales techniques and promotional activities in order to entice customers into buying an organisation's product, whether they want it or not. Therefore this approach places direct emphasis on customers, but, possibly not on their want-satisfaction. Societal Marketing Concept: this is the latest marketing approach, it combines the main ideas of the marketing approach, that is, determining customer needs and satisfying the business's goals, but also integrates social responsibility into the business. This social responsibility includes increasing environmental awareness, which may include tackling the problems of pollution and the exploitation of non-renewable resources. Modern day businesses are

Theology Essay Thesis Example For Students

Theology Essay Thesis Peter San AngeloMarch 25, 2002Quiz # 2 Essay # 1How does Christ demonstrate he would remain sacramentally present to the community in the ritual of the Last Supper? At the Last Supper, which is also known as the sacred meal Jesus spoke to his disciples with the outmost amount of trust. He let them know through his words that he would be a part or one with them through anything. He actually said to them he would remain in their human lives no matter what. This meant that Jesus would be with them whether he was alive or dead. These disciples were his twelve closest friends. Sacred meals, expressive of the human relationship to the devine, form a part of the ritual practice of many religions they share a sacred meal with God as a sign of their acceptance by him through the sacrificial act (Paul Bradshaw. Early Christian Worship, A basic introduction to ideas and practice, The Liturgical Press, 1996, p.38). This quote shows the significance of the Last Supper. It was at this time that Je sus made a impact on these disciples for eternity. The disciples truly learned at this final meal that the Lord Jesus was and forever will be the chosen one. We will write a custom essay on Theology Thesis specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he gave it to them, saying Drink from it, all of you; for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will never again drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Fathers Kingdom. (The New Oxford Annotated Bible, New Revised Standard Version with the Apocrypha, New York, 1973, Matthew 26:26-28). By saying these words, and making the actions that Jesus made, we see that the disciples will forever recall the life and death of Jesus, as well as all of Jesus achievements. Passover relates to the Last Supper through what can be called a Passover celebration. When celebrating Passover we remember Christs passing over the Israelites houses. When celebrating it is the berakoth, or the head of the household that actually leads the ritual. There is actually steps that occur while celebrating the Passover. Bread is handeled, then a small blessing is said before the bread is broken. The ieces of the bread are then passed out to the people at the table, and then wine is poured. After this, a long blessing occurs, and then the wine is drank. Most commonly food is then given out to be eaten just like the food Jesus gave to his Disciples at the actual time of the Last Supper. The Passover like mentioned above is created to remember Gods greatest actions. There are meals that are commonly done at other times than just Passover. These meals are called anamnesis. At these meals, an epiclesis is said. This means that prayers spoken at the ceremony with the break of the bread and distribution of the wine, are said for God to continue his saving and forgiveness forever. There are also other times that we can give a great offering to the Lord, and its not necessarily delivered through a meal. At every Mass a Christian goes to, a Priest will say the words of the Jesus. This part of Mass is the Eucharist. Through Eucharist the followers of Jesus are one with Christ. The Eucharist Ritual at Mass is where the anaphora, or great offering actually comes into play. This is where Christians devote some sort of offering to the Lord. It doesnt matter if its your heart , soul, anything, as long as its an offering that allows Christ to share his love with us. .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e , .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e .postImageUrl , .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e , .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e:hover , .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e:visited , .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e:active { border:0!important; } .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e:active , .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u9d6472dd41567bbc41b6d2272cca193e:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Civil Disobedience EssayAll of these different ways to show appreciation to Jesus Sacramentally, that he is in our life are accepted by the Lord.
